Ligion

This band had a very rocky start. When entering the venue everyone saw a bunch of signs saying that these guys weren't going to be playing. Then about 10 minutes before the band that was playing started, they somehow got back on the ticket and had to set up and do sound checks and everything. So it was about an hour and a half between the doors opening and the band starting.

I must say it was pretty worth the wait. This was a wonderful show aside from the roadie that kept going on stage for every little thing that went wrong, spending about as much time on stage as the band.

Musically they were pretty heavy and had a relatively dark sound. They really pulled it off well, and had a sound that had everyone relatively impressed. As far as the stage show went, the bassist didn't get into it much, but the lead singer was all over the place, the guitarist was full body head banging, and the drummer was going crazy from the get go.

Overall the show was excellent and I know I'll be seeing them again if I ever get the chance.

Lennon

After such an impressive opening band, one really gets excited to hear the band that's headlining. And Lennon is one who wasn't at all prepared to disappoint the crowd that was a mixture of curious first timers and die-hard fans.

Being part of the former, the curious first-timer, I was rather impressed by the show. The music was for the most part very heavy, but at many parts it had a perfect contrast between heavy in your face music and slow passionate singing. The only complaint I had is that the music tended to drown out the vocals, but it was still undeniable that she had an amazing voice.

The set seemed to go on for a very long time, but with Lennon and her band on stage, it didn't drag out at all. Lennon was obviously very passionate about her music, a few times crawling around the stage while she sang, and often dancing provocatively with her band mates. However, she was not afraid to be down to earth, as there was a little girl, probably around 4-5 years old that she knew from somewhere, and she didn't hesitate to talk to her while on stage, or even ask her to help sing one of the songs.

As far as the rest of the members go, the bassist put on a great show. He was walking all over the place, finding as many ways possible to play his bass in as many positions as possible. While the guitarists stood almost unfazed the whole time with his hair in front of his eyes and a cigarette hanging out of his mouth, even when Lennon would get his attention. The drummer did a good job but didn't do anything overly exciting.

Overall, I was very impressed by Lennon, and even more impressed after I heard a couple songs off her CD. I definitely give her a very high recommendation.
