INTERVIEWS/Jake Brown (Bassist) Of Moments In Grace 12/02/04

If the band could play one tour all over again, which one would it be?

The one we just finished, with Hot Water Music, Planes Mistaken for Stars, Don't Look Down, and Alexisonfire.

So far, what has been the proudest moment for the band?

The last couple of tours we've done have been proud moments for us because we feel like we've come a long way with our live show since the start of the year.

Which songs receive the biggest crowd response?

Usually "Stratus", "Broken Promises", and "The Blurring Lines of Loss".

What is the craziest thing a fan has ever done for the band?

Our friends/fans over in California made us the best care package imaginable a few months ago. It had EVERYTHING a band could ever need on the road in it; it was a crate full of stuff.

Will the band be doing anything special music-wise throughout the holiday season?

We are just going to be working on some new songs and making a few changes to the live show to get ready for 2005.

Which songs best represent Moments In Grace?

Well, I think "Stratus", "The Patient", and "The Blurring Lines of Loss" are my personal favorites, and they're the ones that I feel represent our first album well. But I'm not quite sure if they're going to represent what we write for our next album...

What are your favorite music related movies/tv shows?

I love the movie Rock Star. Jeremy and I watched it repeatedly in the van this year. It's so cheesy but good. Spinal Tap is genius; I live by that movie.

If you guys had control over creating the line-up to a tour, what are some bands you would choose?

My dream tour would be with Cursive, Decahedron, and Planes Mistaken For Stars. I'd also love to tour with The Foo Fighters or The Fire Theft.

How much have internet sites like MySpace and Purevolume helped your band?

I think they've been very beneficial for us. Both sites are so popular right now, and we've definitely tried to take advantage of that. They're also good mediums to use for letting people hear rare/unreleased songs or to keep in touch with friends from the road, so we enjoy using them.
