Never Heard Of It
This was the first time NHOI had played the Roxy, so we were in for a
treat. Lots of energy and jumping around. Their sound was awesome... We
got to hear a few new songs of a future Japan release of theirs. We
even got the "Tequila Song", and others including "Satisfied", "This is
Goodbye", "Hard headed", "I’ll change for now", "Stories Changing", and "Last
Letter Read". The crowd was pretty intense. DJ successfully stage dived
and crowd surfed, sang from on top of amps, and at one point, jumped
from an amp and over Elmo and his drums. One of the best bands I have
seen live, still.
Broken Horizon
I really enjoyed this band, and it was my first time ever hearing them.
Their music was pretty good, and the band and crowd had a lot of
interaction. They had a little song that was pretty much a chant
of “no means fuck me” which was funny and got the crowd excited.
Overall, great performance and I enjoyed it.
National Product
Covered “Let The Rain Fall Down” ("Come Clean") by Hilary Duff and poured water on the crowd. I was soaked 'til the next band. Really nice guys, thanked
the crowd a lot. Lots of crowd interaction. Their music was awesome.
The lead singer pulled a younger kid on stage, which was cool. The
singer also tried selling some tix for another show of theirs, while
they were on stage, and it worked. If you get a chance, you should
really check 'em out. Their performance was intense.
Potentchokey
The lead singer had a wannabe Jesse James look going on. The music was
so-so, but not bad. I sort of just zoned out during them. That is
until the lead singer tried stage diving. And it didn’t work. Instead,
he just like kicked 12 people in the head and landed on the floor.
Hard. I tried to keep my laughing to a minimum for their last few
songs. They gave away a band shirt and the girls next to me were
fighting over it, which was rather funny also.
