REVIEWS/Once Upon A Time... The End Tour 11/27/02

DEPSWA: Only once before have I ever seen a drum player so talented and passionate about his art. The drums hold the ensemble together and when they rock it out as much as Depswa the reason is obvious. Besides the name and the percussion, Depswa is an ordinary nuevo-rock-sounding band. The magnitude of their sound, caused strictly by the hard hitting drummer and his trap set of glory, will be what takes Depswa farther—to Ozzfest and beyond.

TAPROOT: Taproot is easily one of the highest climbing rock acts in the U.S. When considering how long ago the band was “not known” to now, the group has taken huge strides into the rock world. Their live shows have without doubt won a throng of fans that were indifferent before (myself included). The energy and straightforward fun it looks like they are having on stage makes it really enjoyable to watch. Many bands could learn from these guys on how to have the audience addicted to their performance, and that makes all the difference in the world. When the guys on stage rock hard enthusiastically while enjoying themselves the fans are going to follow and also have the love for the music just like Taproot does.

MUDVAYNE: Let us just say that when I went to this concert I had neutral feelings towards Mudvayne. I only know the singles off ‘LD50’ and ‘Not Falling,’ the first off ‘The End…’ I left the show in love, adulation, and I became fixated with Mudvayne’s music. What amazes me is how the one experience that I had with them completely transformed them into my favorite band. The perfect mix of ingenious music and powerful lyrics is what sets Mudvayne above the rest. Mr. Martinie is one of the most brilliant bassists in the rock genre and the drummer, Matt, does a remarkable job" STYLE="text-decoration: none; border-bottom: medium solid green;" HREF="http://search.targetwords.com/u.search?x=5977|1||||job|AA1VDw">job on keeping the math-stylized music on the verge of insanity at all times. Chad and Greg also add colossal amounts of talent to the ensemble with their vocalizing and feverish guitar. The set included the entire new CD and a few old favorites. Their fan following is huge, even though they have been mostly underground until recently. Mudvayne is coming. So, watch out. They are coming unbreakable and powerful.
